Success as a therapist (as in any other career) is built upon the foundation of our self-esteem. We would all like to have a queue of clients at our door, make a good living and achieve high success rates, but sometimes these things are elusive!
What we believe about ourselves we unconsciously
broadcast to the world ...
...and so it is not surprising that a healer who avoids addressing his or her self-esteem issues might be finding their work frustrating.
Symptoms of low self-esteem
Undercharging * Seeing clients at unreasonable hours * Being afraid to say 'no'
Anxiety and doubts about the quality of your work
Turning down new opportunities or there being no new opportunities!
Lack of new clients * Feeling a failure when clients do not return
If we choose to brush the fundamental ‘truths’ about ‘ who we are’ and equally importantly ‘what the world is to us’ under the proverbial carpet, it will have great impact. If we are honest our old comfort zone is not really comfortable at all!
We need strong foundations if we are to find the success and happiness we seek.
THE BETTER OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OURSELVES, THE BETTER THERAPISTS WE BECOME ....
